Born in 1996 in Haapajärvi, a small town in central Finland, his sim-racer career began in 2009 and his appearance in F1 Esports dates back to the very first year of the virtual Formula 1 championship in 2017. In 2018 and 2019, Joni Törmälä took part in the F1 Esports Pro Series racing for our friends at Red Bull Racing Esports, helping them win 2019 Constructors’ title alongside Frederik Rasmussen, our driver in 2018, when our Esports team finished second in the team rankings.
In 2020, the young Finn has moved across to our Scuderia AlphaTauri Esports team, alongside Patrik Holzmann and Manuel Biancolilla, who were already with us in 2019. Joni Törmälä has been confirmed in 2021 as well and he teams-up with Sebastian Job and Dario Iemmulo.
