The last time he raced for us was in 2012 and 2013 and today he was able to see just how much the team has changed and evolved in the past decade.

Here to meet Daniel was Team Principal Franz Tost and CEO Peter Bayer. He was presented with a huge version of a visitor’s badge and made his way through the factory with signs of Daniel’s mascot, the honey badger, in evidence everywhere. There was a surprise when he walked into the assembly area to find the entire team there to applaud his return.

He got a particularly warm welcome from those members of the team who had worked with him ten years ago. After a brief chat, Daniel got down to work, attending meetings with the engineers. He also had a seat fitting, in preparation for next week’s Hungarian Grand Prix.

Now, everyone is keen to see how Daniel Ricciardo gets on when he takes to the track with us once again, as he rolls out of the garage to tackle the first free practice session for the Hungarian Grand Prix.
