Saudi Arabia hosts the second round of the 2023 Formula 1 World Championship at the fastest street circuit on the calendar, where drivers cannot afford to lose concentration for even a fraction of a second.
The Jeddah Corniche Circuit has been designed by well known F1 track architect, Hermann Tilke, on this occasion also working in conjunction with Formula 1’s technical experts to ensure close racing and plenty of excitement. At 6.174 kilometres in length, it will be the second longest of the year, after Spa-Francorchamps and is located 12 kms north of Saudi Arabia’s second largest city, Jeddah. The track will take in the waterfront corniche, a beautiful resort overlooking the Red Sea. It boasts no fewer than 27 corners and could have up to three DRS zones for plenty of overtaking.
Like other F1 races in the Middle East, the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix event will be run at night under floodlights, which will afford some relief from average November daytime temperatures of around 35 degrees Celsius.
