2015 will be remembered as the year we introduced our youngest ever driver line-up, which made plenty of headlines, usually for the right reasons. Our STR10 chassis drew plaudits from the pundits for its effectiveness and its attractive lines, while back home, our newest building, number 4 was officially operational. It’s yet another sign of Toro Rosso’s and Red Bull’s long term commitment to the highest level of motorsport, as we head into our second decade on the Grand Prix grid. It’s a commitment that was questioned by some in the paddock this year, but we have proved them wrong, as we prepare to go racing with Ferrari power units once again.
That means the team won’t be taking much of a break as 2015 comes to a close, because the first tests of 2016 are not far away and, would you believe it, new rules mean we have already had to inform the FIA which tyre compounds we want to run at the first race of 2016, in Melbourne, on 20th March!
So there will be plenty of midnight oil being burned here in the next few weeks and we will soon be back to tell you all about it. In the meantime, have a happy Christmas and here’s wishing you a wonderful 2016, every bit as wonderful as the one we hope to have on the race tracks of the world.
