2007 season

The 13th Februrary 2007 at the Circuit of Barcelona in Spain was the setting for the debut of our new car: the STR2. The car, created in collaboration with Red Bull Technology, was fitted with the V8 2400 cc Ferrari engine. The driver line-up remained the same as the previous year: Vitantonio Liuzzi and Scott Speed.

The first half of the season went by without any noteworthy result. Halfway through the season at the Hungarian GP, Scott Speed was replaced by Sebastian Vettel, a product of the Red Bull Junior Driver Programme.

During the last part of the season, things got progressively better: the best result of the year came at the penultimate race on the calendar, the Chinese Grand Prix, a  hugely important double points finish, with Vettel fourth and Liuzzi sixth.

We finished the 2007 Formula 1 season in seventh place in the Constructors’ Championship with 8 points.
