2010 season

The 2010 Formula 1 World Championship brought new changes to the regulations, including the new points system with points awarded down to tenth place. The most important change however was the introduction of new rules that meant teams had to produce a large part of the car completely independently.

Thanks to the huge commitment of those in our factory in Faenza and in the wind tunnel in Bicester, the STR5 was produced. The new car, which continued to be powered by the V8 Ferrari engine, was driven by the Spaniard Jaime Alguersuari and the Swiss Sebastian Buemi.

The car allowed the two drivers to be competitive in the midfield and take points in the Malaysian and Spanish Grands Prix, and again at the Monaco, Canadian, European and Brazilian Grands Prix. In total, the team scored 13 points and finished ninth in the 2010 season Constructors’ Championship.
