2018 season
The 2018 Formula 1 season featured a raft of changes. At the start of the year, there was much talk in the paddock about the introduction of the Halo, a protection system for the driver’s head, following months of tests and experiments.
Along with that solution, the FIA introduced other small changes to tighten up the technical regulations introduced the previous year: among these, the banning of the T-wing and the shark-fin on the nose. Additionally, the minimum weight of the car went up to 733kg. Pirelli also changed their tyre line-up, increasing the number of dry tyre options to seven, with the hope of improving the show with more interesting race strategies.
It was a very important year for our team, the first with our new engine partner Honda. At the wheel of the new STR13 were Pierre Gasly and Brendon Hartley. It was a transitional period both for us and for our drivers but we still managed to get good results. The best was a fourth place, courtesy of Frenchman Gasly in the Bahrain GP. We finished the season in ninth place with 33 points.
