Buzz Group maintains a deep-rooted passion for motorsports, technological innovation, and a desire to positively impact the environment, making their renewed commitment to Formula One an important milestone in their long-term strategic vision.

“We believe that all businesses, including motorsports, must drive positive environmental change to ensure the longevity of the planet and the health and happiness of its inhabitants,” said Daisuke Hasegawa, Buzz Group CEO. “For Formula One to achieve net carbon neutrality by 2030, teams must separately and collectively contribute to this important goal. Scuderia AlphaTauri, with whom we enjoyed a previous partnership, is perfectly aligned in terms of the compatibility of motorsports and carbon neutrality, which makes them a perfect fit for Buzz. We are thrilled to realize this mission together.”

In addition to the mutual passion for sustainable motorsport, the partnership will focus on the creation of a nurturing environment where talented young drivers can develop into future world champions.
“I am excited to have another Japanese partner on board, especially as we are set to return to Suzuka for the first time since 2019, which will be also my first F1 race at home,” says Yuki Tsunoda. “Daisuke-San and Buzz are well known for their passion for racing and for working with promising young drivers, hence I am looking forward to cooperate with them throughout our team partnership.”

Scuderia AlphaTauri Team Principal, Franz Tost: “I am so happy to welcome Buzz and Daisuke back to our team. With active partnerships in different categories of motorsports, they are very focused on supporting young talent and hence are perfectly aligned with the ethos of Scuderia AlphaTauri. With their strong links to Japan, Buzz will help us to further grow our reputation in this specific local market. Their focus on a sustainable future is a great strategic fit for both the sport and our team, and we look forward to helping drive new conversations around this topic.”

The AT03 cars will race with an updated livery to include Buzz branding beginning at the 2022 British Grand Prix in Silverstone. The Buzz logo will be placed on the cockpit sides, headrests and inside the rear wing end plates of the cars, as well as on racing suits, teamwear and various parts of the facility.

In addition, Buzz has various initiatives that contribute to the betterment of society, such as their young driver talent development programme and BEX (Buzz Business Exchange), a B2B network that hosts events during Formula One Grand Prix weekends to help connect and inspire EV and hydrogen technology start-ups.

Buzz CEO Daisuke Hasegawa on the partnership: “We continue to invest in Formula 1 as a proving ground for cutting-edge technology to significantly accelerate innovation, help promote and advance our sustainable development goals, and contribute to more equitable future in motorsport and beyond. Formula 1 brings together leading entrepreneurs, industrialists, and investors at each Grand Prix. Through BEX, we inspire this audience to explore B2B opportunities focused on developing technologies to realize decarbonization, such as EV and hydrogen technology. Each event will also feature a keynote speaker to disseminate the latest information and exchange ideas that contribute to a better, more sustainable, and prosperous society. We cannot wait to launch our partnership this week in Silverstone!”
